This Kid Made His Own Electric Skateboard From Spare Parts
It’s no secret that electric skateboards can be a bit pricey.
So what’s a kid to do if Santa doesn’t come through for them at Christmas time?
Kim Henriksen decided to take matters into his own hands and built his own electric longboard from spare parts he had lying around the garage. Using an old children’s bike, a cordless Milwaukee drill and a few off the shelf brackets and other hardware he made this awesome DIY electric skateboard for practically nothing.
Here’s a quick run-down on the parts list:
- x1 Small Childrens Bicycle
- x1 Cordless Electric Drill
- x1 Skateboard Truck w/ Wheels
- x2 “L” Brackets
- x1 Wooden Board
You have to admit, The end result is pretty damned impressive.
I never would have thought of doing something like this at his age and I give him a lot of props for making this video as well so other kids who can’t afford a proper Motorized Skateboard are able to build their own ride.
If anyone has any other DIY or home-built rides, I’d love to hear about them!
